Syed Iqbal
Syed Iqbal immigrated from Bangladesh at a time when the country was facing political and environmental hardships. A leading artist, Syed has held over a dozen solo exhibitions in Bangladesh and Toronto. Some recurring themes are the struggle of a people in a hostile environment, and the plight of women and nature. His style celebrates both the beautiful and the surreal. Syed has over twenty books to his name and has also won many prestigious awards for his visual arts, illustrations and stories.
