The Three Lambs
Once upon a time there were three little lambs who were living in a small house with their mother. Their names were Shangol, Mangol and Dasteyogol. One day, their mother told them that she was going out to do some shopping, and that they should not open the door to any stranger.
The bad wolf, who was watching them, saw the mother leaving. He went to the door and knocked and said, "My dear Shangol, my dear Mangol, and my darling Dasteyogol, I am your mother. Open the door for me please."
The three lambs responded, "No, you are not our mother. Her voice is as smooth as silk. Your voice sounds like the bad wolf."
So the bad wolf went back and changed his voice, and came back and knocked at the door and said, "My dear Shangol, my darling Mangol, my honey Dasteyogol, I am your mother. Open the door for me."
The three lambs answered, "If you are our mother, then show your hand to us." The bad wolf then slid his hand under the door and showed it to them. The three lambs responded, "No, you are not our mother. Our mother's hand is dyed with henna."
The bad wolf left and dyed his hands with henna, and came back and knocked at the door, and said again, "My dear Shangol, my darling Mangol, my honey Dasteyogol, I am your mother. Let me in."
The lambs said, "If you are our mother, show your hand." The bad wolf slid his hand under the door and the lambs saw that it was dyed with henna and they open the door. The wolf jumped in and ate Shangol and Mangol, but Dasteyogol managed to run away and hide.
Later on when the mother came back, Dasteyogol told the whole story to her. The mother got very angry and went to the blacksmith and asked him to sharpen her horns. The blacksmith did so. The mother went to the bad wolf's house and said, "You took my Shangol. You stole my Mangol. Now I am here to fight you and get them back."
The bad wolf came out and said, "Yes, I took your Shangol and I ate your Mangol, and I am here ready to fight you too." Then they got into a fierce fight. The bad wolf had sharp teeth but the mother sheep had sharp horns. She hit the wolf hard in the belly, and Shangol and Mangol jumped out. They went home with their mother and they never opened the door to any stranger again.
